LibraryPost.com Malaka, Indonesia / OKL Foundation officially announces a high-level academic partnership for a study titled “The Role of OKL Street Library: Orchestrating a Holistic Social Ecosystem for Community Resilience.” This research has been selected for presentation at the 10th World Conference on the Future of Education at the University of Oxford in March 2026.
The project is more than just a paper; it is the culmination of years of professional networking and academic synergy across three continents.
A Bridge Between Harvard and Oxford
The collaboration with Prof. Thomas Szymansky from the American College of Education (USA) was born at the Harvard Faculty Club. Both Oktavianus and Prof. Thomas served as speakers at an academic conference at Harvard, where their initial dialogue on global leadership and social systems evolved into a strategic partnership. This synergy brings American educational standards to the frontier of Indonesia.
Long-Term Synergy with Universitas Udayana
Further strengthening the study is the involvement of Dr. Ikma Citra Ranteallo from Universitas Udayana (Indonesia). This partnership traces back to the IPCOMC 2018, where Oktavianus and Dr. Ikma first collaborated. After successfully publishing their first article, this Oxford project marks their second major scholarly collaboration, proving a long-standing commitment to documenting social dynamics in Indonesia’s borderlands.
The Social Laboratory
Utilizing the OKL Street Library as a “living laboratory,” the research examines how inclusive literacy, intergenerational synergy, and food security create a resilient social ecosystem.
“This study is a testament that frontier innovation can meet world-class standards when supported by a strong global network,” said Oktavianus.
The research also integrates academic insights from his previous programs at the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and Leiden University. (Editor team)
